„Erler-Zimmer GmbH & Co. KG Elderly Foot Ulcer Model:
- Model R10228:
- Chronic foot ulcers mostly affect the elderly. This model is designed to teach about the care and cleaning of pressure ulcers at various stages.
- Pressure ulcers are most common in pressure points, such as the heels, toes, between the fingers, or anywhere where bones can catch and rub against socks, shoes, or bed sheets.
- This model replicates all four stages of difficulty:
- Stage I: The lesion is located on the base of the finger. The skin surface is red.
- Stage II: The lesion is located on the bottom of the foot, directly under the toe. The skin surface is red and extends deeper into the skin layers.
- Stage III: The lesion is on the side. The skin surface is red, looks like a crater, and reaches the lower layers of the skin.
- Stage IV: A lesion on the heel of the foot. The skin surface is red. Many tissues are damaged, including muscles, bones, joints, and tendons.
