- Training model for extracorporeal oxygenation. This training model has arterial and venous circulation, both controlled by automated pumps, which can be adjusted in terms of both flow rate and pulsation frequency. It is possible to simulate a real patient with all possible conditions that may occur during the procedure. The model is suitable for VA- and VV-ECMO. Puncture and cannulation can be practiced using real materials and instruments. The arteries have a diameter of 8 mm, the veins 10 mm. This allows the use of common catheter types without any problems. The puncture pads (one at each of the left and right femoral puncture sites and one at the neck puncture site) are made of ultrasound-sensitive material. This allows ultrasound to control the needle until it reaches the vessel tube. The trainer can be used with real ECMO equipment and provides a realistic fluid volume for real machine operation. The trainer also has 4 connectors for ECG contacts. The contacts can be connected to an ECG simulator (not included).
