- Model code: MP2005
- Clinical history
- The patient was a 51-year-old woman who had a cerebrovascular accident that resulted in left hemiplegia 2 years before her death.
- At necropsy, she had severe disseminated atherosclerosis and an old left ventricular myocardial infarction with a superior mesenteric thrombus.

- The walls of the infarct cavities are irregular, yellow, and partially contracted.
- Compensatory dilation of the left lateral ventricles.
- The arteries located dorsally beneath the egg organs were moderately atherosclerotic, although this was difficult to visualize by macroscopic examination.

- Due to her previous history of myocardial disease and the presence of a superior mesenteric thrombus, it can be assumed that her cerebral infarction was probably caused by a thromboembolism.
