- A 56-year-old woman was admitted after 2 episodes of severe headaches with loss of consciousness.
- Clinical examination revealed systemic hypertension with cardiac enlargement and right hemiparesis.
- Angiography showed a bilateral middle cerebral artery aneurysm.
- The patient's condition deteriorated, and she died shortly after admission.
- Pathology
- The left hemisphere of the brain is divided by a parasagittal plane, and the cut surface shows extensive cerebral hemorrhage in the parietal and frontal lobes.
- The bleeding and associated clot cause more extensive curvature in the left external capsule and lateral ventricle.
- The source of bleeding was a ruptured left middle cerebral artery aneurysm.
