Erler-Zimmer GmbH & Co. KG 3D model of intracerebral hemorrhage:
- Model code: MP2012
- Clinical history
- An 80-year-old man suddenly lost consciousness. On examination, right gaze palsy, left hemiplegia, and right hemiparesis were noted.
- Pathology
- The samples are coronal sections of the brain at the level of the mammillary bodies, and more anteriorly, where both parts of the temporal ventricles are involved.
- A large blood clot had replaced brain tissue in the region of the left basal ganglia and internal capsule.
- The bleeding began in this area and spilled into the left lateral ventricle, destroying the walls of the left lateral ventricle and spreading to adjacent brain tissue.
- Note
- These types of intracranial hemorrhages are usually a complication of systemic hypertension.
