Vacuum saturation system VPS, manufactured by UAB "Labostera".
With the rapid development of technology, vacuum is increasingly used in the field of archaeological finds restoration. Using vacuum systems, it is possible to significantly improve the quality of archaeological finds conservation, facilitating the work of restorers. By saturating (or consolidating) surfaces with consolidating solutions in a vacuum environment, the penetration of these solutions into areas of archaeological finds that are inaccessible to brushes is ensured. The use of vacuum for saturating archaeological finds with preservative solutions, drying finds after washing or freezing can be applied to finds made of such materials as iron, copper, wood, ceramics, glass, leather, amber.

Advantages of VPS:
- Large (Ø301mm x 360 mm), clear glass vacuum chamber hood. Convenient to observe the processes taking place in the chamber.
- Control and regulation of all parameters affecting the process (vacuum depth, vacuum depth change rate, pressure equalization rate in the chamber, impregnating solution inlet/outlet rate). The operator controls and freely adjusts these parameters.
- Compressor for supplying air to the chamber so that after completing work in a vacuum environment, the glass cover is released from the base. This protects the chamber gasket from mechanical damage and facilitates the operator's work.
- Shelf for containers with solutions. Containers are conveniently placed under the tabletop, the operator does not need to carry them, they can be transported together with the table.
- Electromechanical raising and lowering of the glass cover. The operator does not need to lift the heavy cover, the possibility of breaking the glass cover is minimized.
- Simple and convenient operation. All control and monitoring devices are located on one side of the table. The operator can work both standing and sitting.
- Very simple preparation for work: after placing the device in the right place, it is enough to insert the plug into a 230 V 50 Hz electrical outlet.
- The system is mounted on a mobile table. The table's casters have brakes, making it easy to position and lock the device in a convenient working location.
- At the customer's request, several sets of piping are provided, which are used to inject/discharge the preservative resin (solution) into the vacuum chamber. This avoids a long washing procedure. The number of sets is as needed.
- At the customer's request, the system can be equipped with a 0.5 m high glass enclosure, which would allow processing of larger finds.
- At the customer's request, we can select an inner chamber container or set of containers of different dimensions to optimize the use of the vacuum chamber volume.
