Delta-T Devices Ltd. WS-GP2 Weather Station
- Powerful, durable and highly flexible air station
- Designed for use in adverse weather conditions
- Wide range of sensors, including soil moisture measurement
- Cellular modem connection
- Compatible with DeltaLINK-Cloud online data sharing platform
- The full Penman-Monteith evapotranspiration equation is calculated
The advanced WS-GP2 automatic weather station is based on the powerful GP2 data logger. It is an ideal solution for research and environmental monitoring in remote and open areas. The WS-GP2 provides a highly robust and flexible system - users can choose the optimal combination of sensors, logger, power supply and communication.
Sensors
The standard WS-GP2 includes sensors to measure rainfall, sunlight, soil temperature, wind speed and direction, relative humidity, and air temperature.
Flexibility
The GP2 data logger has the power and flexibility to handle almost any environmental sensor, meaning the WS-GP2 weather station can be as simple or complex as your application requires. Even after installation, it is easy to customize the system to your specific needs. Optional sensors include barometric pressure, soil moisture, soil EC, UV, PAR, albedo, net and diffuse radiation, and evaporation.
Data processing
Data can be easily collected using a laptop via USB or remotely using cellular modem options. DeltaLINK software makes it easy to set up measurement intervals and view and download stored data.
Data presentation options include wind rose, gusts, and average (including direction and vector average).
SDI-12 enabled
The GP2 data logger supports SDI-12 inputs. The GP2, available until March 2016, can be easily upgraded via software.
Main features:
- Huge additional input capacity for SDI-12 sensors
- Analog and digital channels fully available
- Flexible logging device + sensor networks
Additional meteorology features
For studies related to evapotranspiration, time of day, disease prediction, wind chill factor, dew, PID control, etc., the advanced features of GP2 will open up exciting possibilities.
Full ASCE/FAO 56 Penman-Monteith evapotranspiration calculation
The WS-GP2 Weather Station and DeltaLINK Software (from version 3.7) allow for full calculation of the ASCE/FAO-56 Penman-Monteith equation for calculating reference evapotranspiration (ETo).
ETo is calculated using the relative humidity, wind speed, solar radiation and air temperature measured by the WS-GP2 Weather Station. This ETo implementation option includes the ability to change the yield albedo/LAI, roof resistance, yield height and sensor height.
This feature can be easily selected by users as an optional recording option in the DeltaLINK software. The calculated ET can be recorded as an hourly and daily value – which can be used for further individual calculations or when specifying field irrigation solutions.
Customization
The GP2 analog inputs are fully customizable. Each channel can have its own input type and recording parameters. DeltaLINK software gives the user control over the sensor display frequency, thresholds and units, and provides recording options for average, minimum and maximum, as well as specialized wind options including wind rose, gusts and wind average.
Script Editor
This powerful software feature allows you to create step-by-step operations to manage simple or complex processes or recording requirements. The options it offers are so rich and varied that the possibilities are endless. The editor interface is easy to use, no programming languages are required.
- Which sequence of operations to implement the models
- Advanced control and recording capabilities
- Simple user interface: no need to enter commands, no programming language
- Implements simple or complex conditions, algebraic expressions, and records the values of the results
Simulator
This unique software feature allows you to test recording programs before they are actually activated. In programs that incorporate weather data, irrigation or soil moisture, variables can be changed to examine how the program responds. Several years of recording time can be simulated in just a few minutes.
- Implements simple or complex conditions, algebraic expressions, and records the values of the results
- Creates and manipulates variables, such as in the case of a disease risk factor
