The OS5p+ modulated fluorometer is the most advanced addition to ADC’s chlorophyll fluorometer range. Weighing only 1.4 kg and offering 12 hours of continuous operation, the OS5p+ is unrivaled in terms of mobility and performance for an outdoor pulse modulated fluorometer. The OS5p+ can measure both ambient light and dark adaptation parameters, including Fo, Fm, Fv/Fm, Fv/Fo, Y(II), Ft, Foq and Fms. Photochemical and non-photochemical quenching coefficients such as qP, qN and NPQ can be calculated.
The OS5p+ gives researchers exceptional control over each experiment, including source intensity, saturation pulse intensity, and sampling rates of up to 10,000 samples per second. The system features dual-channel (660 nm / 450 nm) modulated light and a 735 nm LED for Fod settings.
Data can be stored on a large 1 GB internal memory that can hold thousands of data sets and sequences, or on removable SD memory cards.
The OS5p+ comes with an open sample holder with integrated PAR and leaf temperature sensors. Yield Y(II) varies not only with stress but also with ambient light and leaf temperature levels, so it is important to monitor these parameters throughout the experiment.
When working in environments with high levels of active light, the system can improve the accuracy of results by using multi-flask Fm' correction.
The OS5p+ has the largest range of extinguishing protocols available in a single device. These protocols include:
- Hendrickson Lake Model Protocol with NPQ
- Kramer Lake Model Protocol
- Pond model protocol
- Quenching relaxation protocol
To monitor the light absorption characteristics of samples, the OS5p+ is pre-programmed with fast light curves. Ideal for rooftop or underwater experiments.
