Erler-Zimmer GmbH & Co. KG 3D model of aortic lymph nodes:
- Model Number: MP2103
- Clinical History:
This was the case of a 75-year-old woman who presented with symptoms that recurred after the disease and confirmed that she had chemotherapy-resistant metastases after five years of initial therapy for stage III serous adenocarcinoma of the ovary. Positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scan showed involvement of the para-aortic and pelvic lymph nodes. She died of liver complications before therapeutic options such as radical lymphadenectomy could be considered. - Pathology:
The specimen contains the abdominal aorta and common iliac arteries, presented with a large number of grossly enlarged paraaortic lymph nodes in the iliac lymph nodes. Histopathological examination revealed metastatic high-grade adenocarcinoma in some of the removed lymph nodes.
