No other soil moisture measurement system allows you to monitor your soil water profiles with such ease and flexibility. Install the access tube into the soil, insert the PR2 ProfileProbe and press the HH2 [Read] button to display instantaneous measurements, or connect the PR2 to a data logger (GP2 or DL6) and let the system record soil moisture changes over time.

The PR2 soil moisture sensor is built on patented sensor technology that delivers unprecedented performance in all soil types, with minimal impact from both salt and temperature. The PR2/4 model measures soil moisture at 4 depths up to 40 cm – the PR2/6 measures 6 depths up to 100 cm.

The PR2 ProfileProbe is available in two sizes to measure depths of up to 40 cm or 100 cm.

PR2/4 has sensor elements at 10/20/30/40 cm depth

PR2/6 has sensor elements at 10/20/30/40/60 and 100 cm depths

HH2 Meter

The HH2 is a versatile readout device that provides an easy and convenient way to display and store ProfileProbe measurements. With the HH2 and PR2 combination, the sensor can be moved from access pipe to access pipe, allowing large amounts of soil moisture data to be collected at multiple locations.

Data logging

The ProfileProbe is available with an analog or SDI-12 interface.

For the analogue version, order PR2/4 or PR2/6.

For the SDI-12 interface version, order PR2/4-SDI-12 or PR2/6-SDI-12.

Please note that analog and SDI-12 sensors cannot be mixed on the same cable system.

Data loggers for analog ProfileProbe

Delta-T offers two suitable data loggers. Both have dedicated PR2 ProfileProbe input channels and switches:

DL6 Data Logger can record one PR2/6 or one PR2/4 ProfileProbe

GP2 Data Logger can record up to two PR2/6 or three PR2/4

Data loggers SDI-12 ProfileProbe

The PR2 SDI-12 is ideal for use with SDI-12 enabled GP2 data loggers. Multiple SDI-12 ProfileProbes can be connected to a single GP2 (the actual number depends on cable length, power and other factors).

Auger and Extraction Kits – for optimal Access Pipe installation

The ProfileProbe is used with access tubes inserted into artificial holes in the soil - correct installation is important for accurate soil moisture profile measurements. The purpose of installation is to create optimal contact between the soil and the wall of the access tube. The artificial holes must be straight, level and of the correct diameter.
