Her previous 3 children were all delivered vaginally, and there were no miscarriages. She complained of intermittent moderate abdominal pain. The gynecologists were unable to stop the bleeding and performed an emergency radical hysterectomy and salpingectomy. The patient and the baby made a full recovery.<\/li>\n<li>Pathology:<br \/>\nThis specimen of the uterus and fallopian tubes, ovaries is a bicornuate uterus, cut horizontally and mounted so that the cut and external surfaces are visible. Both uterine bodies are of equal size and share a common cervix. The cervix contains several small cysts.<\/li>\n<li>Additional Information:<br \/>\nA bicornuate uterus is a congenital uterine deformity in which the fundus of the uterus is more than 1 cm indented. The vagina and cervix are usually normal. There is usually a single cervix. There are usually two fairly distinct endometrial cavities.
