On evaluation, he was jaundiced with cholestatic liver function tests. He underwent transurethral resection of the prostate but died of pneumonia 5 days postoperatively.<\/li>\n<li>Pathology:<br \/>\nThis specimen is a lobe of the liver, fixed so that the cut surface can be seen. The capsule is slightly thickened, and the liver material is finely nodular. The intrahepatic bile ducts are dilated. When viewed from the posterior or inferior surface, an irregular pigmented stone, 10 mm in diameter, is seen lodged in a dilated hepatic bile duct. Another smaller stone, 3 mm in diameter, is displaced.
