He presented after a similar attack associated with vomiting and fever. This last attack did not resolve spontaneously, and he underwent cholecystectomy.<\/li>\n<li>Pathology:<br \/>\nThe thick gallbladder has been opened to show a thickened hemorrhagic mucosa and numerous irregular, faceted figures. A large stone is lodged in the neck of the gallbladder. The serous surface of the gallbladder is convoluted and has lost its usual luster.
