KG 3D model of basilar artery Berry aneurysm<\/strong>:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Model code: MP2001<\/li>\n<li>Clinical history<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>A 37-year-old patient was admitted to the hospital with headache, vomiting, and disorientation after a blow to the head.<\/li>\n<li>CT scan showed enlargement of the lateral lobes associated with a large mass projecting into the third ventricle.<\/li>\n<li>A week later, a shunt was performed for hydrocephalus.<\/li>\n<li>An angiogram revealed a partially occluded aneurysm measuring 1 x 1 cm originating from the basilar artery.<\/li>\n<li>The shunt was replaced 3 months after surgery due to occlusion, with repeat cerebral angiographies revealing interval aneurysm enlargement.<\/li>\n<li>An attempt to ligate the aneurysm was unsuccessful. The patient remained unconscious despite several attempts at shunt repair, and died.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Pathology<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>This slice of the brain is divided in half by a sagittal plane.<\/li>\n<li>It forms an entire section of half of the brain about 1 cm thick.<\/li>\n<li>A large, dark-colored oval berry aneurysm measuring 5 x 2 cm in diameter, originating from the basilar artery, is clearly visible on the inner surface.<\/li>\n<li>It bulged into the diencephalon, pressing on the third ventricle and the lower structures of the pons from below.<\/li>\n<li>The aneurysm wall appears solid, although a blood clot is visible within the third ventricle and appears to be spreading through the lateral wall of the third ventricle.<\/li>\n<li>The aneurysm is filled with laminated thrombus.<\/li>\n<li>A small area of myxoid degeneration measuring 0.4 cm in diameter is seen behind the aneurysm, inside the mandible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Read more<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>The prevalence of aneurysms in the population is about 3.2 per 100,000 person-years, while rupture is much rarer, occurring in only 7.9 cases per 100,000 person-years.<\/li>\n<li>Nodular intracranial aneurysms originate from the main blood circulation and are most commonly located around the basilar, occipital, and cerebellar arteries.<\/li>\n<li>Symptoms may be due to either aneurysmal host factors or mass effect associated with compression of the opposing brain parenchyma and cranial nerves.<\/li>\n<li>Rupture causes complications due to bleeding and increased intracranial pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Possible condition: hydrocephalus, bleeding and vascular spasms.<\/li>\n<li>Management is by surgical methods; in recent years, new therapies include endovascular intervention with coils and subsequent observation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>3D models of basilar artery Berry aneurysm \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/labostera.lt\/en\/product-brand\/erler-zimmer-gmbh-co-kg\/\">Erler-Zimmer Anatomy Group<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>More information: <a href=\"https:\/\/erler-zimmer.de\/shop\/en\/11352\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">on the manufacturer&#039;s website<\/a> or send us an inquiry!<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Erler-Zimmer Basilar Artery Berry Aneurysm 3D Model.
